Our client is a boutique financial planning company, who are part of Best Practice IFA Group – highly established and providing advice on all aspects of financial planning.
They are a growing financial planning firm with high productivity, searching for a star performer to run the day-to-day IFA business, manage our admin and paraplanning team, and report-to and work alongside the Managing Director, and with the other Financial Advisers.
We pride ourselves on supplying a modern financial planning experience: blending a personalised client service with modern financial tech.
With our clients – mostly senior company executives and high-net-worth private individuals – working in-and-around the City of London our office is based in a busy and buzzy WeWork on Bank.
The Role
This is a senior position within the firm, working alongside the senior management team.
The ideal person will be able to work across multiple areas (compliance, operations,
business strategy, team management and workflow management management)
They are looking for an individual who has a good understanding of financial advice and the wealth management process through their own experience within different areas of wealth planning. Desirable experience would include time themselves in administration, compliance, paraplanning roles.
The individual will be the person in the business tasked with looking across all areas, considering how they fit together and discussing proposed changes with the MD. They would be able to bring ideas into the business around how to appropriately implement different processes and procedures whilst continuing to ensure their clients receive a high level of service.
You should be comfortable and confident working at a senior level, with good communication skills. You should be able to work alone, and as part of a wide team. It’s important that you can work on your own initiative and be proactive in your day-to-day role, as well as being someone who enjoys getting involved with the work as much as manging it.
Your Strengths
- Min 4 years working within an IFA practice.
- University degree.
- Impeccable written and spoken English.
- Strong communication skills, client-facing and inter-company.
- High level of numeracy.
- Technologically competent, using new software and back-office systems.
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills (including analysis and presentations) – Excel, Word, Powerpoint, Co-Pilot
- Experienced in mail-merge/bulk-emailings and Docusign and preferably, bulk client acquisitions and on-boarding.
- Comfortable in a highly productive, dynamic working environment.
- Ability to adapt and thrive under pressure while remaining focused and calm.
- Happy to muck-in as much as manage your team.
- Maintain good relationships with providers.
Your Experience
- Ideally 4 years or more in a Financial Services role, preferably within a Financial Planning business.
- Experience across a variety of roles would be welcomed, such as administration, operations, compliance and paraplanning/planning.
- They would prefer an individual who has knowledge of compliance and FCA requirements.
- Experience of managing others would also be preferable but not essential.
Responsibilities:
Operations and Management
- Oversee New Business Processing.
- Manage on-going annual reviews of existing Clients.
- Review & Optimise all Company Processes.
- Compliance – liaise between our Network and the Company to ensure policies and procedures remain compliant.
- Assist MD in annual audit of Company methodology documentation.
- Review Firm Revenue to ensure Company on track to meet annual targets.
- Assisting MD with monthly Adviser Performance Reviews.
- Manage Administration and Paraplanning Team.
- Improving the current broader client communication and engagement processes.
- Manage Client Servicing & Communication.
- People management – ability to draw together, manage and work alongside differing personalities and departments to get the best out of everyone.
HR
- Responsibility for Staff Reviews, Disciplinaries, Training and CPD.
- Managing Staff Leave and Sickness.
- Main liaison between HR support agency and the Company.
- Review and upkeep of Company HR policies and procedures.
Package:
- Full Time role
- £50,000 – £65,000 basic salary, depending on qualifications and experience
- Discretionary Bonus scheme
